John teaches figure drawing.
This two-day class will include a live model in the afternoon both days. The important things he wants to teach are about lighting the subject, whether it be a person or still life. Note that the model fee is included in the price.
John came to Pittsburgh in 1975 to attend art school at the Ivy School of Professional Art, a competitor of the Art Institute. Afterwards he made a career as an illustrator for 50 years, working for every advertising agency in Pittsburgh, Penguin Randomhouse, the Wall St. Journal and many others, using both traditional and digital tools. He also taught at La roche College for five years. Most recently he is a fine arts painter, primarily in oils. John has won awards for his advertising, publishing and now fine arts work.
