Watercolor Landscapes: Simple and Elegant. How to keep watercolor landscapes clean and crisp? The 3-hour Zoom workshop class explores various watercolor techniques, as well as the use of shapes, values, and composition, with the emphasis on economy in style. The class includes a series of instructional demo paintings, questions and answers. Watch and listen or paint along!

A portion of each registration will be retained for the support of McMurray Art League.

Once you register and complete payment, you will be sent the link to the Zoom recording of this three hour class. Please do not share it with anyone who has not paid for the class or recording.

Materials for the class:

  1. Set of watercolor paints
  2. Paper: Arches Cold Press 140 lb, 3-4 sheets approx. 8”x10”, extra sheet or two for the exercises
  3. Brushes: I use Blick Master Natural Pure Squirrel (#10 is the favorite), and Rosemary & Co Eclipse Series long flats #8 and #10. Any round and flat watercolor brushes of similar size would do, as long as your round brush has a nice fine point.
  4. A hard board (wood, plastic, metal, any other material), approx. 11”x14” or any size to fit the paper but portable enough to tilt
  5. Pencil, eraser
  6. Masking fluid
  7. Micron pen, black 0.5
  8. Container for water
  9. Paper towels, sponge
  10. Masking tape
