Barry teaches watercolor painting techniques. He says:
For references, I prefer something of their own.....a photo or sketch as to a page from a magazine.....or worse someone else's painting from mag. But I can't dictate to for some students have been inspired by a painting and want to see if they can create the same look and there is some merit in that, so let's let them bring in what they will!!
Let's just say preferably their own photo or sketches.
Class will be called “Why values are composition's best friend”. We will discuss and have an exercise pertaining to such. We will also discuss the necessity of having the right painting equipment.......What's in your paint box. We will follow with our traditional one on one instruction. Students should bring reference photos. One thing I would like all students to have is a box of pop up Kleenex.
